Anat Litwin is an Israeli Artist and Curator based in Brooklyn, working in the medium of paper cut-outs, drawings, public art and installation. Her work aims to capture a space in which playfulness, sensuality and every day experiences are cultivated to confront questions of personal and communal identity. Her work has been exhibited internationally and in private collections.

 

Litwin received her BFA from the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design, Jerusalem, Israel, in 2001, and her MFA in 2005 from Hunter College in NY, Department of Combined Media. She was the Director of the Makor/Steinhardt Center of the 92nd Street Y Artists-in-Residence Program & Gallery, and is currently the Associate Director of LABA at the 14th Street Y.

 

Anat founded the HomeBase Project in Spring 2006 as an independent, community-based project.

Managing Director

David Tirosh is the Managing Director of the HomeBase Project. Born and raised in Israel, David is currently a NY based performance artist and facilitator. With a formal education in theater, David co-founded WAX (Brooklyn, NYC, 2000-2005), a multi-disciplinary experimental performance space, in order to manifest his knowledge, abilities and talent in all areas of performance and production. He then became the Company Manager of 3LD (NYC, 2005-2008), an art and technology center. He is currently the Technical Director of Galapagos Art Space.
David is an accomplished creative mind with professional credentials as a Performer, Designer and Administrator. Recently he has been devoted to the exploration of technology as a revival element to live performance.

Project Director

Adi Ezroni has been producing television and film in the US and abroad since 2003. Her films include "Holly"(Ron Livingston, Virginie Ledoyen, Udo Kier and Chris Penn), the feature length documentary "Children for Sale" (directed by Charles Kiselyak), "The K11 Journey", 5 time Israeli Academy Award winning director Haim Bouzaglo's "Session," and "Rachel," written by Academy Award nominated screenwriter, Anna Thomas.

 

Adi Ezroni is one of the leading actresses and television hosts in Israel. She has acted in numerous films and television programs, won the Israeli Golden Screen Award, is the lead actress in "Matay Nitnashek", a popular prime time drama series and a former celebrity host of the leading children channel in Israel.  She is also on the board of Elem-Entry, the young leadership of an organization that deals with Israeli youth in distress. She has a BA in Psychology and Political Science from the Tel Aviv University and a certificate in Media Management from the New School.

Curatorial and Programming Director

Leor Grady is an Israeli-born visual artist and an independent curator, working and living in NY.
His work has been shown in the US and abroad, among others, at Rush Arts Gallery, Exit Art Gallery and Center for Book Arts in New York City - as well as in publications and private collections.

 

Leor served on the faculty of The Makor/Steinhardt Artists-In- Residence Program of the 92nd St Y in 2006-7 where he created, taught and curated several projects. He is the Curatorial and Programming director of The Home Base project.
His work navigates within the realm of the intimate and the private. It negotiates between the two, leading to a visual exploration of the poetic in the mundane.
Through drawing, installation and video art, Grady subversively reposition everyday objects, concepts and experiences and imbues them with poetic meaning.

Project Coordinator

Amelia Morgan is a visual artist whose works focus predominantly on the human experience, drawing from her background in psychology and art. In 2005, she began a series of "body maps," using the body as terrain to map out episodic memories and emotions as landmarks, symbols and scars. A current body of work explores the emotional struggle that exists between body and mind.

 

Amelia joined HomeBase I in 2006 and has continued with the project as Project Coordinator for the past two years. In New York she has also been involved with Performa05, Makor Gallery, and Paula Barr Chelsea. Following the Artist-in-Residence Program at the Makor/Steinhardt Center in 2006, she exhibited at Makor Gallery and Broadway Gallery. She is one of the founding members of the art collective SuperGlue, a select group of NYC artists devoted to volunteerism in the community and creating art collaboratively. Amelia graduated from Scripps College in 2005 with a BA in Psychology and Studio Art.

Shai Zagury is a Graduate of the Wizo College of design in Haifa.

Project Associate

Dawn is a multi-disciplinary artist that relies on the innate drive of people to play. By animating defunct or retarded connections between seemingly disparate people and places in a state of transition, her work often acts as a social stress test. Dawn re-purposes local newspapers, public transportation commutes, and meals with strangers as transformative social stages as a means to lend agency to the public towards ownership of their own cultural renewal.

Laura Miller is an artist living and working in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. By creating site-specific performance pieces and sculptural productions Laura explores history, food, and social interaction. Following graduation  in 2008 from Carnegie Mellon University with a double major in Fine Art and Ethics History and Public Policy, Laura seeks to integrate urban development with cultural production through her art practice.

Community Outreach

Marilyn Walter is a NYC based artist whose works have been shown in galleries throughout the New York area. Working on paper and canvas, she is looking for ways to push the boundaries of drawing and painting by transforming collaged materials into new states and circumstances.
Currently, she is the Artist-in-Resident at the 72nd Street Senior Center where she is developing a permanent Alzheimer’s program called “Art & Memory.” Marilyn is a dedicated community artist who also participated in the Artist-in-Residence Program at the Makor/Steinhardt Center 2003 & 2004. Community Outreach

Pamela Saturday lives and has an art studio in Brooklyn, NY. She works in the medium of oil paintings, works on paper, as well as mixed media installations. She received her MFA from Pratt Institute. She exhibits her work in NYC and various parts of the US. Pamela Saturday has been involved in community based projects including working with children from the public schools to created an installation for the Montefiore Children's Hospital.

Leslie is a Nuyorican artist from the Lower East Side. She works with acrylic and is now venturing into oil painting. “We’ll see how this goes.” She is involved in many forms of art, including dance and poetry, aside from painting. Her work is an expression of her self-reflection as well as showing attention to her family. Many of her personal pieces are portraits of her loved ones. She continues to explore the inner struggles between one’s strengths and insecurities. She takes in all her life learned lessons and hopes to continue to pour her soul into her art.

Tal Siano is interested in the intersection between film, video art and multi-media art.

He is a student at Sam Spigel school for Film in Jerusalem, and has been working as producer and creative producer on several projects and films, his latest production has been excepted to Kannes festival. He studied Photography and Graphic Design and has been involved in the production and managing of cultural festivals in Israel.
